Intrigue that invites and engages a personal interaction ~ that, to me, is the ultimate moment of creativity. When a piece of art captures attention by something neither anticipated nor obvious, a personal connection is established, often an intimate one. It could be provoked by physical elements, or by space, by texture, line or color. It happens when a viewer looks to find the expected and finds instead, something else. Something that alights a new perspective, thought or emotion.

My work has many influences, but I’m particularly affected by the graphic perspective of design and the means of its production – the moving and overlaying of components, and the combination of contrasting styles. I’m drawn to the impact of the linear as well as the beauty of simplicity and of organic form.

Currently I’m working with acrylics, applying paint with action. My intention with this technique is to develop a vibrant sense of texture and dimension, expressed through countless colors, just a few or even -  just one.
